jessfxI had to watch it twice to have a connection with this very sweet short. We all grow up in our own pound and, la divina commedia, is what we give up for the dream. Our purgatory is the reality of everyday life. The ending was visually exquisite & inspiring.
thereareroses it's called an innovative approach and interpretation of the lyrics, and what's wrong with a prelude? If you can barely provide an intellectual and thought provoking contribution, then i suggest you remove yourself from this page and this site, no one wants your lack of creative perception and thinking.
therearerosesVery thought-provoking and creative. I especially liked the stick-figure look of the main character in the field in the last scene...and the fact that she emerged from the water at the beginning. Raised interesting questions about the place of the human being in the natural world. The "Wait for me" theme of the song raised interesting questions about emergence. The painted eyes, and then the "eyes of her eyes" opening...very cool. Great work! The editing work was very clean and sharp. Very professional.
baudrillardosomehow reminded me at moments of Nicholas Roegg's The Man Who Fell To Earth. Wonderful video! Amazing acting by the woman in the lead, the acting direction it's top notch! I hope you (and everybody else who reads this) like mine as well, it's the story of a little elephant searching for his missing chicken friend for months on the streets of Barcelona and Madrid: http://genero.tv/watch-video/6242/
tharris01Wonderful video! It was uniquely your own interpretation, unlike many of the other videos which depicted the same idea of a depressed girl/guy. I liked the comment that suggested your video is a scientific connection to the lyrics. It definitely seems to give a more literal interpretation of the lyrics as opposed to the emotional/metaphorical interpretation like some of the other videos (“wait for me” is a depressed, hopeless girl, searching for the abstract ideas of meaning, happiness, identity, etc). This video instead represents the lyrics with a concrete image of “wait for me to become human,” a metaphor in itself without trying to be, at least this is how I felt when I saw the video! In comparison, many of the other video's I saw got caught up in the "wait for me" idea by trying to represent it with emotional images, which usually drained the energy from the video even if really good at first.
Your literal interpretation of the lyrics also gave the video a myth-like, fairytale quality. I watched your video all the way through without feeling bored once or thinking it was the same as so many others. I loved the playfulness! Thanks for a great music video, and good luck!
Singerboy18@gmail.comI loved it! It's eccentric, artistic and borderline bohemian. I love the part where she meets the Janitors, so much symbolism. If connection between this and the lyrics then maybe you think very scientifically? All I know is that th concept just seems to fit.
