  • CG Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But sadly, the comments of MLShetty70 in response to this video point to a disturbing trend - namely, intolerance stemming from a lack of education, understanding and human empathy, followed by cyberbullying (don't kid yourself, Shetty, that's what it's called). If you follow the news, you can see the tragic and almost daily consequences of this kind of bullying, which is exactly what this video so poignantly illustrates. National Day of Silence is coming up on April 25th - please participate if you can! Keep the faith, e.E., and don't stop speaking out against all forms of bigotry.

  • mw0349 While I, too, appreciate any sort of feedback for my work, including the negative, they need to be constructive and thoughtful. This is just a low blow as to what you're seeing on the exterior of what is going on. I feel like you watched a totally different video than what is being shown here. I do not think that the "fat" girl is hated and ridiculed by "thin chicks" so much as she is ridiculed for loving another girl. The gay themes are relevant in the very first clip, showing that she doesn't necessarily seek refuge in another girl, but that this is truly how she feels, and the ridicule comes from this, because no matter how far we like to pretend we've come as a society, people are still out there hating other people for something as universal as love.

I am in no part a participant in the making of this video; I am defending its message because I believe it to be a strong one and because of the crass and unhelpful comment posted above. e.E shows great dignity, courage, and maturity for taking it with such grace. I, unfortunately, do not have the quality of patience for ignorance, and this video absolutely gets my vote.

  • CG This video is absolutely poignant. What strikes me is how closely the story mirrors what's been in the news lately - teasing that leads to bullying that leads to harassment that leads to suicidal thoughts. This short video, accompanying a wrenching song, tells a bitter but all-too-true story.

  • cinemagrrl This video is powerful. As someone who works with teenagers, I feel this is an important and timely message -- especially as the Day of Silence approaches. I love the choices to move from black and white to color. Nice job, indiereel. Consider me a fan!

  • Zavafilms Hello there!

Appreciate your comment on my video. I'm glad you liked it.
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed yours as well. A dark story, but one of truth and it was told with skill both visually and creatively. Definitely something to be proud of.

    Best,

  • BEME Terrific video, very powerful message. Growing up is tough enough without fear and ignorance making it tougher still. We need to be celebrating our differences, not disparaging them. Keep up the great work!
