  • baudrillardo Extraordinary piece of work. If you win you certainly should get more than 5'000$, no really!
I'm really loving your video, even if I'm competing with yours.
Kudos, incredibly ambitious! yours is like the Avatar of this competition! Brilliant work! Too bad the screen capture they show in the list of videos is so lame, as it doesn't represent the intensity of the video.

    Good Luck Zavafilm people!
I hope you like mine as well, it's the story of a little elephant searching for his missing chicken friend on the streets of Barcelona and Madrid: http://genero.tv/watch-video/6242/

    PS:You got my vote!

  • scotty991 Hey Jason, looks like the Russians have thrown a fix in to generate over 1100 votes within 24 hours. I thought the cold war was over??? lol

    • Zavafilms Scott,

The Cold War was over, but it seems we have The Empire Strikes Back on our hands. It's time to bring out the Jedi! ha ha

  • windfast i really like the shoot! it was beautiful
But that male actor was a bad choice, and he has to much makeup on and kinda looks like a weasel..... sorry
    2 years ago - comment
    • Zavafilms windfast,
      Thanks for the compliment.
As for the actor, he's quite talented, no matter how he looks. The make-up was a slight oversight...Bottom line, from a director's standpoint. He's good.

  • scotty991 Jason, I got your message and I appreciate your thoughts you shared. You have put together a very nice video this this comp. This was my first go at something like this and I have learned so much from artist like yourself during this comp. I do hope to take and build on this experience in the future. Again, thank you for your help and suggestions. Good luck!

  • llhayes I have to be honest with you. I don't think your video is that good to have received all those votes in the past 24 hours. You obviously have lots of friends or something. I'm sure it means something to you and a few others which is fine, but not enough to have come out of nowhere with the vote count.

    • Zavafilms llhayes,

I hate to disappoint you, but in this business, part of marketing is spreading the word.

We have spread the word, but people don't just vote to vote, people vote because they like our work, so I'm sorry you don't agree.

Clearly people do enjoy it, I hope you come to as well.

    • sanjiv hate to break it to you dude (zavafilms) yes people do mindlessly vote just because they know you, if they had seen other videos on the site, im sure you wouldn't have recieved as much votes, there seem to be amazing videos outthere.
im not tring to slander your video, the cinematography is lush, very music video- esque broad camera sweeps... it flows smoothly (camera work). the colouring is nice. you have an excellent/ clever cinematographer and editor. but saying that i felt that the plot seemed to be lacking in the video, we get whats its about but it didn't feel very effective. i think its edgar allen poe who said that the saddest stories are about the loss of a loved one, this was not sadenning, i felt nothing from it. really wished the plot was more affecting because i realy liked the theory. still looks lush and impressive budget. good luck holmes.

  • CWent You know, I'll echo everything about cinematography and lighting and how pretty it is. I'm going to disagree with comments about the story and go ahead and say that I got what it was. "Wait for me". He was chasing memories of this girl, so it was a montage of the joys of love at the wonderfully picked locations (Dylan) and his revisiting them. I think a clearer way to define this early on would be to make stronger choices in costuming. I would have said just one costume for all the "present time" shots and varying costumes in a different color scheme for the "past".

I dug it overall. A triumph.

    • alex whyte I am interested in this video because of the number of votes it is accumulating, and I have had another look to see if it is something I am missing but I still think the shots are incoherent? they don't tie together nicely, perhaps it is even a matter of grading or maybe as you say the costumes?
  • glenarbiter I must agree with alex whyte below me on cinematography- Craig Hung you are very talented.
However the storyline was completely absent, the direction was poorly executed; one should always remember a listless plot leads to a dull movie (also director please learn that continuity needs to be a prioity- what time frame is it? modern day or when men wore foppish blouses and women lace gowns? I am not bagging costuming because the outfits were well put together, this was a direction mistake again. Its up to the director to make deliberate choices.) Just a word of advice, don't try to sell an audience a themeless montage as a story, it will be disappointing.
    On a positive note:
lighting was fabulous- great job Zac Towner
locations were stunning- Dylan Drovdal well done
Brennan Cook as Boy: solid facial expressions- wonderful and intriguing look you have there
I look forward to future works by this group.

  • alex whyte for production values and composure of a lot of the shots I would agree that it is quite good, however in terms of conveying the story or some kind of emotion I would have to say that this is a little lacking

Description:

We've all gone through a situation where something, or someone, special to us was lost.

This story is a glance into the memory of a young man reminiscing of his lost love.

As he travels through his memories and scenery, he recalls different feelings, and aspects of his lost love, and himself.

Where does our love end? Do we let go and fall? Or do we glance back and keep looking, or do we move forward?

Thanks for watching. Enjoy.
