UNKLE HEAVY DRUG (ANTIWAR REMIX) UNKLE HEAVY DRUG (SURRONDING BAGDAD REMIX) A group of friends and I worked hard with the aim to build a project that shows and register all the post war of Irak era from different views. With effort we arrived to Irak, there reality speaks by itself and we tried with humanitarian purposes to live among Bagdad surroundings. Once we had the footage a couple of years passed by, without a final purpose for it, the documentation started to move along some national universities. The problem was how to recover the project inversion, it was hard to find a media partner because the material showed without consent and in a transversal view what we saw in Irak. At that moment, Bush was popular in the United States and the material couldnt be broadcasted in massive media. I believe that the symbolic and cryptic music of the duo Unkle is the perfect soundtrack to receive our eight minutes story all around the world. Maybe is not the ideal media for an awkward theme, but I believe that the opportunity to share the experience is a personal satisfaction and an accomplished duty. The first time I listened to UNKLE was in the Miami Arena, he showed up with Hernan Cattaneo. It was the most incredible setting I've seen in a show of this kind. Going down the stairs we could see that all the arena was directed to the cabin, the cabin was in the middle of the scenario, like a ring. The visuals where dark, cryptic and symbolic. People have had enough, of course it was the final part of the Miami Winter Conference 2005. It was a pity (unlucky) that cams were not allowed. I believe that the great interpretation and incredible musical world of Dj Shadow are the perfect complement for a globe-trotter partner that rocks!
