I was born in Greece and then travelled across Europe during my childhood and youth to end up (for the moment) in Belgium. Have studied journalism before entering the magical world of film where i was fascinated with the image (camera + lighting, got that by watching so many movies during my teens...) and the emotional effect it could arose into somebody. It's a fascinating art, especially in those days where technology has become as affordable and available as it is today. The learning curve has gone milder for a beginner due to this access to high quality video production tools, but you never stop from being a student... Knowledge in that field is so vast that im just discovering the wonders of the top of the top of the top of the iceberg. I try to shoot as much as possible, be it music videos, commercials, short movies or concerts, but also to do other jobs related to film on long features. Through the Genero contest i had the opportunity to make my first steps as a director for a Moby music video which was an amazing experience that i want to reproduce as soon as possible. I'm far away (in a long and distant country) from considering myself a director, but you learn so much when you have to check all the aspects of video making, and it's so exciting and stressful (in a good way, the stress and excitement that makes you feel alive) to see on screen pictures you had imagined in your head that you just want to do it again , immediately. It's getting addictive like a drug, giving the same feeling of ecstasy i guess, without the down... So Genero got me addicted to that stuff and I wont thank them enough for that! It's a bit too soon (well LOADS too soon) to talk about "my style" or "my message" in my videos or stuff like that, with just one done. I guess the only thing that i can say is that i try to provoke some emotions to the viewer, to make him feel things when watching it, and not just to show a technical demonstration without any content. Some of my work: As a Director: - Moby: Wait for me - Music Video (http://genero.tv/watch-video/7730/) - Soul Sensation Nightclub - Commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuDYPjYaUyU) As a Director of Photography/Cinematographer: - Genevan Heathen - Je ne sais quoi - Music Video (http://vimeo.com/16966541) - Starlight: Shake it Up - Music Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjdG4SAczow) - In a Daze - Sooner death than slavery - Music Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iE92w_eMZs) - Ab Aeterno - Short experimental movie (http://vimeo.com/10922227) - Fragment of a Metamorphosis - Video for nightclub giant screen (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcnj5p_clip-fragments-of-a-metamorphosis-v_creation) Live concert Videos as a Cameraman/Editor: - Jazzy Jeff Live in Brussels (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skAQDLaWXvw) - DJ Premier Live in Brussels (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cXT2fKJbH8) - The Alchemist + Evidence Live in Brussels (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_lwGWSj0O4) etc... Zaf For my personal taste this amazing project would have been the winner! It was the most original piece of art i saw here, and already when i was editing my own wait for me video, i saw this and it almost discouraged me to continue, i was so blown away! Love the ending which is very difficult to achieve, and the way you distorted the images in that hallway... Anyway congrats keep up the good work man (your robotpolish series looks great too) take care

Zaf Wow the RED One nice!! Would love to shoot one day with that camera (aaah the nice looking slow mo you dont have with the 5D...). Could you tell us what Car Rig you used for the car scenes? I'm just searching for one fitting the 5D. Thanks a lot and good luck!

Zaf Well the final decision hasn't anything to do with votes... so there is a point at competing even if you don't want to count on votes... Just 2 out of 6 finalists are based on votes and then Moby does his final decision... so calm down on the importance of votes ;)

Zaf Hey man thanks for your vote but more for your thoughtful comment on my vid! Just reciprocated the vote not by obligation but because i liked your idea... thought it fits well with the Moby universe. Liked the part where the elephant makes the sand "fly" in the air! What i love from what i see in this competition is the whole different concepts people thought of (stop motion, puppets, etc)... Anyway keep up the good work!
