I studied Interior Design but realized I was quite passionate about moving pictures. I was offered a job at JPM Productions and have worked there for 3 and a half years, and have just recently moved to Melbourne in search of bigger work. The content we dealt with was often quite dry, so I spend my spare time entering these competitions because it allows me to follow my passion and visions without limitations...and because I want to be a director one day!
moreI started searching the internet for competitions to enter and my girlfriend (at the time) noticed Genero.tv and put me onto it, for which I am truly greatful! It is difficult at the best of times to find competitions. Ever since I discovered Genero.tv, I have been following it closely, as it is exactly what I was looking for. It hasn't had an impact on my career but that's probably because I haven't won anything yet?
How would you describe your film making style? My film making style probably hasn't really emerged yet, or maybe it has? You tell me? I didn't study film so I am new to the game and each project I embark on I try to learn something new. This is probably influencing my style...also the fact that I have about $150 to spend on these projects is influencing my style. Working late in my spare time is influencing my style (the bags underneath my eyes that is).
What sort of work have you done in the music video space before?I haven't done any work in the music video space apart from what I have done for Genero.tv's competitions. Like I said, I'm new to the scene and I see music videos a bit like business cards for directors hence I am trying to develop my skills! I really like music videos because you have total freedom in terms of creativity and there are so many amazing music videos out there.
Where are you hoping to head in the future?I like the whole process of creating moving images but I think I could see myself as a director one day. Simply because I lie awake at night trying to get ideas out of my head, and I think that having a vision for a project, be it film, music video or advertising, is what being a director is all about.. oh and making a feature film would be awesome! =)

Hey mate, your cinematography skills are awesome! I am guessing you shoot on a 7D? What compression do you use to upload to genero, your videos always look so clean? I try a quicktime mov with mp4 compression but they never really look 100%.
alex whyte May I be the first to welcome you to the 'cool' club by speaking my mind: A taxi driver once told me that the longest fare does not bring you happiness. I paid him and got out.
