Sebastian Mihailescu is a passionate feature film and music videos director who is currently studying at prestigious "Caragiale National Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography" in Bucharest, Romania.
moreWhen I heard about Genero, it was my love for music videos and the possibility to compete in an international competition which will showcase one's work that made me want to enter. It helped me to gain attention and it was the boost I needed to really start in this direction.
How would you describe your film making style?I try to keep it simple, sincere and innovative, following my instincts, and the style will come. It should be passionate, dark and visually appealing.
What sort of work have you done in the music video space before? My work for the Duran Duran competition was my first music video I've ever made and with your help I was able to enter in this space.
Where are you hoping to head in the future?I really enjoy doing music videos so I want to keep doing it for a while, playing with different ideas and concepts, fighting with no/low budgets, and finally move to feature film.

trotskyite00 Lucy Sala is an absolute lunatic. That is only my POV, not an absolute universal truth.

urbanframe First, I don't dig the people who type in all capital letters. They are often an irritant to others who are reading what they have written. Second, you are not in the position to define what is cool or not and your excuses like "It Was Only my POV", all over this contest, are just narrow-minded. I don't want to defend myself. I was just trying to explain some concepts here, but I think they exceed your vision.

Lucy Sala A) You dont have to Defend yourself. It Was Only my POV, your video is NICE! B) You can not compare with Romain and the look of the player and the moods are 80's but not underground, in other way you "pretend" to be COOL, But you look outmoded cool, wanna-be. Romain pretend to be TRASH trash and In This cool I get outs: IT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT (my POV not an absolute universal truth). C) It is clear That I sings I know, But you dont get it, this is Worse: this is the kind of 80's crappy video ideas, it doesn't work for itself. D) Do not always assume you are in a position to know that he knows or does not know a person or what is more you can give lessons. You could take the surprise that someone prefers just to be polite and say things concrete and constructive criticism about your work, instead of foolishly flatter without discretion. Or that the person knows more than you and directly rather than focusing on your work destripart everything that seems bad, prefer to be polite and ignore negative criteria. Sometimes the adulation of friends is easy but useless and a critical time can make you see things that will serve you in the future but right now: learn to accept people criticize your work without having to defend yourself, but you just accepting what given that there is more than an opinion that a priori, it is as much or more than yours. You dont have to defend your work, you have to belive in it. Take care!

urbanframe I'm glad you like the actors and the scenery. First, I have to disagree with you concerning the aspect of the protagonist . He looks really rock'n'roll ( I think you are a bit out of your area regarding fashion / rock'n'roll. Let's remember one of my idols, Marlon Brando in The Wild One, http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_SEBprPa178I/TEdDH8AYC3I/AAAAAAAAAAc/le8MHNsTxiY/s1600/blouson_perfecto_marlon_brando1.jpg who was the first who sported a Perfecto style motorcycle jacket and a tilted cap) and I really think the lead singer of Mona would also dress like this on an ordinary day. Second, you've misunderstood the main point of the story, though. The protagonist really "sings" (diegetic sound) that song in a subway station, he plays his own role - a subway artist. He is not a replacement singer, he's an actual singer who happens to sing the same song because it suits his rock'n'roll style. It's pretty clear. And regarding this "Videos with people But pretending to sing in place of original singer WAS history in the 80's because they were crappy" maybe you'll learn something from here, Romain Gavras's Simian Mobile Disco, I Believe http://vimeo.com/9356123. Cheers

Lucy Sala The actors, shoots and scenary are NICE! but think about the aspect of the band MONA compared with the appearance of the protagonist who looks like a gigolo of the 80's in a latino country it is fun. Videos with people But pretending to sing in place of original singer WAS history in the 80's because they were crappy. Milly Vanilly style.
