Read the Q&A with WROE Y JACQUES What was it about Genero.tv that made you want to enter? Has it had an impact on your exposure or career?

It's a great opportunity to develop your skills in a competitive environment - and everyone needs a little pressure ;-) Genero also happen to offer great artists with guaranteed industry exposure of your work....and with a little extra incentive called CASH.

It was partially due to collaborating on Genero.tv music videos comps that we formed WROE Y JACQUES. We've definitely had phone calls directly from music videos we created for Genero.

How would you describe your film making style?

Tough question. Every project has it's own needs that we cater for...we do try to go above and beyond to ensure the project's originality and impact it'll have on the viewer. Originality is definitely the most important element for us.

What sort of work have you done in the music video space before?

We've directed for artists such as LMFAO, The Wave Pictures, NoOne and of course we started out with friends of friend's bands like one of our favourites, Spaghetti Anywhere. Right now, we plunging ourselves deeper into the music video scene as we're currently in development stages on several hot new artists outta London & LA.

Where are you hoping to head in the future?

To continue doing what we love and to inspire others along the way.

WROE Y JACQUES man if i felt your video was amazing, i'd be one of the first to give praise. I love Genero in that it inspires us all to do our best and create. As beauty should never be compared, perhaps art should never be compared either. However, here it is and they give you money for it, so sue me for speaking my mind ;-) www.joshwroe.com

WROE Y JACQUES Well Genero does not get to vote, the label does. The real mess-up for me is that they already had a video made....just think...would this have won if they didn't have a video already? did they want a video that wouldn't outshine theirs? I really want to know their reasoning behind this.

WROE Y JACQUES dude, the band didn't have a definite message/concept otherwise they would have made it themselves....oh wait they did already.... them playing in the location of their old start-up gigs. I'm not really bothered about a level of professionalism. I think concept comes over quality. anybody else know WHY?

WROE Y JACQUES I hear ya on that. Spamming friends is a pain in the ass - you always have to buy the first round next time you see them... Yet the winner of the contest (in my history of Genero) is not chosen by FB likes. Smaller cash prize and an opportunity to be a finalist is what I've seen. Using the FB likes is actually a really good thing. It generates more interest and publicity for Genero, which in turn will attract more artists to find directors via this platform. And if you do win a contest, then more people will know about it....

WROE Y JACQUES Yeah I see your point, but this time I decided to do no editing and go more art-house. It's kind of a love or hate it. I felt this time it was cool just to sit back and listen to what the band is actually saying.
