Mona have now chosen the winning video for the Lean Into The Fall competition as well as the finalists. It was another great example of your talents and the band and label were really impressed with the variety and quality of entries. Below is feedback on the winner and finalist selections...
Winner: DIDISH.REC (Belgium): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32575/
We are thrilled to announce DIDISH.REC as the winner of the Lean Into the Fall video contest. It was great to see all of the interpretations submitted and we had a tough task choosing one winner, but we thought this one really captured the meaning of Lean into the fall which is just about letting go. Whatever the situation ...just let go and be ok....It's only rock and roll.
The Finalists are:
Josh Wroe (UK): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32613/
Loved this one too. Great story, beautifully shot and edited. Amazing location too! Well done and keep at it - you clearly have talent!
kidding hsu (Taiwan): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32615/
Visually stunning and another which could have easily won. Loved the rotating camera effect and the relationship with the song title. Very unique and loved the feel of it.
sancharoenchai (USA): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32608/
This was so entertaining and enjoyable to watch. The animation is fantastic and it's another great narrative that keeps you interested. Your Bio mentions you "like to make fun stuff" and this definitely fits the bill!
swing (Argentina): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32609/
Beautiful cinematography and a video with feeling and soul. Leaves the narrative open to interpretation and it works really well with the song. Fantastic.
Tall Man Short man Films (UK): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32614/
This felt like it could have been a short film. Great acting and loved the overall feel. A quality piece of filmmaking.
Dimitris JimmyBoy Argyriou (Greece): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32576/
Another great video that leant more towards the visual than narrative, like kidding hsu's video. The images, train ride and overall feel of the film work really well with the song.
marinac (Argentina): this was the Facebook Likes finalist
Well done to all of the entrants - hope you had fun making your videos and learnt some new skills along the way!

WooWoos have now chosen the winning entry, which will become the official music video for their debut single, Fizzy Lettuce. There was a really impressive range of great videos entered with some fantastic interpretations of the song, but unfortunately there can be only one winner! Below are the winner and finalist videos with feedback on each of the selections...
The WINNER is:
AJRutter (UK): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32564/
Loved AJ Rutters interpretation of Fizzy Lettuce. His video was a tragic and sad story that combined evil, innocence, misplaced trust and desperation. He really understood the feeling and emotion of the song, which is probably why his video stood out so much. Congratulations!

We were all overwhelmed at the talent, diversity and interpretations presented, and it was a very tough choice to make. So much so that the band went back and forth over a couple of the videos, before finally settling on a winner. Congratulations to the winner who is...
andyp89 (Australia) - http://genero.tv/watch-video/32457
Wow, what a great clip. Andrew captures his subjects really well, and conveys true feeling and emotion without the camera getting in the way. Amazing colours, and the camera work is incredible. Dark twist at the end was unexpected, too. Love this one.
andyp89 wins $4000 and jeshraghian was the finalist with the most Facebook Likes who recieves $1000. You can watch all the entries on the Eskimo Joe page!

A note from the band and feedback on the winner and finalist selections below...
"Thanks to everyone who entered our competition to make the video for our new single 'Lights Out, Words Gone'. It was hard to choose a winner as the standard was so high.
We have finally decided that the winner is http://genero.tv/watch-video/32311/ by UnaRegiaDiMauroBlasetti (Italy). This video shows couples dancing in the evening sun edited perfectly in time with the track. The video completely suits the mood of the song and is by far the best music video we have done to date."

The Panics have chosen the winner and finalists in the competition to make the official video for Endless Road. It was a very tough decision given the quality and diversity of the entries! We'd also like to mention a few that just missed out on finalist selection, which were the videos from: TimArmstrong, A.Urbel and Tom Wise.
And the WINNER is...:
Achyutanand Dwivedi (India): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32256/
There is some effortless storytelling going on here. While there is an obvious link to the song's title, the film shows one person's struggle against self and his surroundings to grasp what he longs for. The location is as surprising as it is unfussy. His destination is unclear, but his conviction and determination is palpable to anyone who sees this. Simple, original and the winner.

The winner and finalists for the Golden Sun competition have now been chosen. The selections are below along with feedback on each of them. Once again we were all blown away by your talents so congratulations and keep up the great work!
Before we get to the winner and finalists, we just want to make mention of a few that just missed out that we also really liked. Those were the entries from: Crimsoneye, mungous, urbanframe, AbstractZen and yosslevi.
And now, the WINNER is...:
Alex et Ol (Belgium): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32232/
The basic concept of this video is fully achieved and executed perfectly. The editing and flow is quick paced and links really well with the song. The choice in characters that appear as the video progresses are all individually entertaining and are introduced at clever points, giving no slow point to the video. Definitely a video that makes you want to watch it again. Well done!

The winners and finalists for the competition for The Middle East's Jesus Came To My Birthday Party have now been chosen. The selections are below, along with feedback from the band, label and Genero. There were fantastic entries, with a huge range of creative interpretations, so congratulations to all of the talented directors who took part!
Now to the selections and firstly, to the WINNER. After the band, management and label deliberated they couldn’t split two of the videos, so instead chose two winners. We’ve never had that situation before so we checked with each of the filmmakers to ask them if they'd be OK with sharing the prize money and thankfully they were both very excited to be chosen and happy for there to be 2 winners.
The WINNERS are:
andyp89 (Australia): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32181/
A well thought out piece executed very well. Really enjoyed the use of age as a symbol. Extremely smart how the connection was made between the two characters in the video...definitely keeps the viewer intrigued. Especially like the sun flare feel of the hazy memory of youth and the close up character studies of the older girls as their faces light up toward the end of the piece.
robandrob (UK): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32178/
We loved the cinematography and use of fire. It's a fantastic visual piece that adds a completely different feel to the song. It really grew on us and in the end we had to also choose it as a winner.
Read on below to see all of the FINALIST selections.

Bombay Bicycle Club and Island Records are giving you the chance to make the music video for the band's next single, 'Lights Out, Words Gone'. The winner, chosen by Bombay Bicycle Club and Island, will get £2,500. Finalists will be chosen by the band, Island and Genero. Closes September 14.
A bit of info from the band to help point you in the right direction.. "We feel the song has a summer or end of summer vibe to it, but open to any and all interpretations so please don't be limited by that. No animation, no bicycles and please don't reference any of our old videos for this song."
Please note that the winning filmmaker may be required to edit their video down to a 3 minute version for TV. Also, for this competition you can't upload your videos to other sites (including YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook) until after October 1.

The Flogging Molly winner has now been chosen. Apologies for the delay but the band were all in different countries so it was hard to get a consensus on their winner selection.
Drum roll......and the WINNER, who will receive $4,000 is:
RF (Czech Republic): watch video
Here is some feedback from Flogging Molly. "Roman Forst's video rendition of 'Revolution' is a bit Monty Python, a bit Power to the People, and a bit, erm, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The video's message hit on the idea of everyone pulling together in a global revolution for a better world, while at the same time, the animation was quite surreal and cheeky. It brought a chuckle and put a smile on everyone's face when they watched it. Great job Roman!"

The Panics and Dew Process are giving you the chance to make their next music video for Endless Road. The winner will get $5000 and have their video serviced to media and TV globally. Finalists will be chosen by The Panics, Dew Process and Genero, with 2 finalists also being selected based on receiving the most Facebook Likes. The winner will then be chosen by the band.
The band explains… "We are very open to seeing how a director interprets 'Endless Road' and the imagery it may evoke. The lyric is broad in its subject, the verses are in some ways claustrophobic and insular, with the reader expressing he’s stuck in a 'bad dream' and at some kind of turning point. There are many possibilities for the video, I think we'd like to lean away from live performance for a change, and give the song the chance to be represented creatively with an idea and images from someone’s imagination. We are generally not into too literal an interpretation so as to be too obvious but to prioritise visually interesting and creative ideas that feel new, ambitious and as creative as possible. Also happy for the visuals to have no direct relationship with the lyric but fit the mood of the music."
Closes August 29, more info on The Panics page.

Fenech Soler and Warner Bros records are giving you the chance to make the official promo for Golden Sun. The winner will not only win £1,000, but also get a film director's PR campaign from Warner Bros Records UK, as well as the opportunity to pitch on 2 more music video projects for their artists. This represents a huge opportunity for filmmakers looking to build their profile in the music video industry, putting their work directly in front of one of the industry’s biggest labels.
Finalists will be chosen by Fenech Soler, Warner Bros and Genero, with 2 finalists also being selected based on receiving the most Facebook Likes. The winner will then be chosen by the band. Fenech Soler are looking for an edgy treatment, something dark, abstract and "anti-pop".
Closes on Aug 22. Good luck!

After much deliberation due to the number of fantastic entries, we're now ready to announce the winner and finalist selections for the Aimee Allen competition. Below are the choices made by Aimee and her guest judges, directors Katherine Brooks and John Roecker, as well as their feedback on the selections.
Firstly a note from Aimee: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the brilliant filmmakers who participated in this Genero experience.
I am so humbled and honored to witness so many phenomenal artists bring my song to life. I cherish each and every video for different reasons as they are all very special to me. Thank you for sharing your art with me and with the world."
And from John: "This was a lot harder than I thought - everyone who submitted a video have to be commended on their art. I was blown away by each and every one one of these videos."
Now to the selections. Firstly, the WINNER, who will receive $3,000 is:
femto² (Italy): http://genero.tv/watch-video/32120/
A beautiful video that expresses both death and life all in the order. When the heroine escapes her mourners and caress the Earth's cracks it is an incredible scene. This video is like an epic motion picture. We felt it had the best performances, was well shot, original, interesting and had great directing.

It's our view that Second Life videos aren't generally suitable to be used as official music videos. We're not ruling them out completely, but in most cases, we won't be publishing them unless they're exceptional.
We have published some in the past, mainly because they represented a new creative medium, but in recent times we've started to get a huge number entered. Because we don't think they're generally suitable and we don't want to become a platform for Second Life music videos, we had to form a general policy to avoid people investing time and resources into making them.
We apologise if Second Life is your creative preference, but we hope you understand and wish you all the best with your future videos.

OMD have chosen the winner of the History of Modern (Pt 1) competition. Congratulations to Lapantafilm whose video was picked as the winner and will now receive £2,000. Check the feedback from OMD and Genero on the finalist videos and the winner choice below.
http://genero.tv/watch-video/27746/ - Lapantafilm (Sweden): The sheer volume of work that has gone into this is incredible. So many different film animation styles. A very creative mixture of stop frame animation, modelling, drawing, film capture. A serious collection of OMD references.. some of which are incredibly subtle, some not. The ideas are a varied and effective as the many different techniques. There were several really strong entries but this is the clear winner.
http://genero.tv/watch-video/26882/ - Ian Plested (UK): This is most charming and so funny. The expressions on the faces are priceless and I love when I steal Paul's mouth. Cool start with History of Modern part 3 and the computer head. I can't stop going back to watch this over and over and just keep smiling.
http://genero.tv/watch-video/28498/ - Lucas Santa Ana (Argentina): I find this very moving actually. Incredible how a pile of photographs can capture your imagination and draw you into a little private world of one persons history. You can watch it over and over always wondering who the pictures are of, and what is happening. Charming and fascinating.
http://genero.tv/watch-video/28002/ - Mark (USA): The most brilliantly simple video using coloured paper squares yet the ideas are so strong that it really stands out. The five bar 'meters' on the synthesizer melodies is so powerful as a pure animated graphic. Also some of the images that are associated with the lyrics are very clever.
http://genero.tv/watch-video/24306/ - Maxì Dejoie (Italy): A very funny and light-hearted video that worked well with the song. The transitions from each dance sequence, where the group spins, are also really well done so you definitely have some fim making skills.
http://genero.tv/watch-video/28594/ - Federico Anastasi (Italy): Another video that a lot of work has obviously gone into and it's been made really well. Loved the fireworks at the end which really brought it to life. We felt others probably just worked a bit better with the song but well done on a really good video.

Alex Clare and Island Records have chosen the winner for the Relax My Beloved music video competition and have given some feedback on their choice and the other finalists below. Another amazing competition where the quality of the videos was truly outstanding.

After much deliberation the winners for the Royksopp Senior music video competition have been chosen by the band. Apologies for the delay but because of the number of quality entries it was an extremely tough choice!
Before we get to the winners, we want to give some honourable mentions to highlight a selection of the other fantastic entries that weren't chosen as finalists, as well as the film makers behind them. Obviously we can't mention everyone but these are just a few of our favourites that we wanted to specifically acknowledge: Valentina Branchetti, simone.rovellini, Akos Badits, timhalliday, Bartos Brothers, Paul Eckhart, LAB8, Irem Atalay, Abbie Brandon, Federico Garcia, rootlessstudio, Robin and David, Diegoberto Bellamy, fujiko, Lyds, fodonga tv and MariaShurupova.
And now for the winners...the following videos were chosen by Royksopp, Wall of Sound and PIAS and each will receive $1,000, while the overall winner gets $3,000. Well done to all of our film making community who entered and good luck to all of the finalists. Stay tuned for the winner announcements!

Apologies to everyone but the Royksopp finalists won't be announced today. There are a lot of quality entries and it's a tough decision for the band and Genero to narrow it down to 3 finalists per track. Finalists will be announced either Friday or Monday and winners shortly after - all details will be confirmed as soon as we can.
Sorry to everyone sitting on the edge of your seats but obviously the band and ourselves want to make the right choices and just need a little extra time.
UPDATE: we have just had confirmation from Royksopp that finalists will be announced Monday, sorry for the delay, but they want to take the time to review the entries properly!

We are no longer going to include voting in determining finalists on any Genero.tv competitions. We have done this as a result of feedback from our community, where automated voting tools were being used on videos without the film maker's consent. This of course goes against the spirit of Genero.tv.
We recognise that film makers have no control over who votes for their video and by what means, so they were often legitimately surprised to find out about it and they're being unfairly penalised.
We have now changed the judging guidelines on all open competitions. Anyone can still place a vote on a video, but it will have no impact on determining finalists - who will be chosen by Genero.tv and the artist.
We value and act on feedback from our community, so please keep it coming!

David Lynch has chosen the winners for the Good Day Today and I Know music video competitions. The winner announcement from David is below.
"Ladies and Gentleman,
Happy New Year 2011 to you all. I hope for each of you it will be a really good year.
It is January 3rd now and I am supposed to pick the winning video for the songs "Good Day Today" and "I Know." This is very difficult for me - I feel that everyone who participated put in a lot of work and creativity. Each of you who did participate deserves a big round of applause and I send many thanks to you.
It is so difficult to pick only one winner for each song that I find I have to pick three. One I will call a "winner" and two will be given the title "runner-up." The "winner" videos will each get the prize money of £2000 and additionally each "runner-up" will receive prize money of £500.
The WINNING VIDEOS are:
Good Day Today:
http://genero.tv/watch-video/17890 - adod (France)
I Know:
http://genero.tv/watch-video/22162 - temek (Israel)
The RUNNER-UP videos are:

I Know:

http://genero.tv/watch-video/17234 - meathead (USA)
Thank you all once again for your participation in this video competition. It really makes me feel honored and very good. All the best to all of you - rock on and be happy.
David."
Congratulations to each of the winners and runners-up, as well as to all of the other finalists and entrants. You should all feel very proud of your work and hopefully you had a great time making your videos.
All the best
The Genero.tv Team

The 10 finalists for Good Day Today and I Know have been selected by David Lynch and Sunday Best Recordings, the label who have signed him for this music project. Lynch will now choose the winner from these finalists, which will then become the official music video.
The response to this competition was amazing with almost 450 videos published and some fantastic creativity and talent on display. We're very happy it's not up to us to choose the winner because it's a very daunting task and so many of the videos could easily be used as the official music video!
Here is some feedback from Sunday Best Recordings on the competition and finalist selection: “The quality and diveristy is incredible. The whole process with Genero.tv has been quite inspiring, and its been pretty tough to filter these down. There are so many ideas and techniques put forward. There are no hard and fast rules – we’ve just made our selection based on a certain feeling. A certain mood and feeling to complement the music that David Lynch has created. Now its over to David to name his two winners...”
The 10 finalists for each song are......

The David Lynch competition is now closed, we are currently reviewing all entries. Please do not contact us asking where your entry is yet, as we have a huge number to get through! Thanks for all your amazing entries!

Before you get started creating your video, or even uploading it, please ensure you comply with our basic rules to get approval into the first stage of any competition (which means getting published on Genero.tv). Videos that do not make the first round of publishing are usually due to not complying with these rules;
- We only accept true 16:9 or wider videos, and do not allow stretched footage
- We do not accept any letter, pillar or window boxing (ie. black bars in any part of your entry)
- We do not allow titles or credits of any sort to be added to videos
- We are looking for entries that can become official music videos, to see what that standard looks like, browse our featured videos here

We've changed the version of A Long, Long Way from the 12 minute version that's open the album and includes the hidden track, to the 4 minute digital version. The shorter version is now available to download from the Royksopp page to use in your videos. We felt this was much more suitable and apologise for the initial oversight.

Responsible for such iconic films as Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and the cult TV series Twin Peaks, film maker and visual artist David Lynch is one of the most important directors of the modern era. Now aged 64, the man whose name has become a byword for the unorthodox and avant-garde has launched a new chapter in his career releasing an electronic single, Good Day Today / I Know, through leading UK independent Sunday Best Recordings.
Lynch is now giving film makers all over the world the chance to make the official music videos for both tracks via Genero.tv! Entries close on Dec 20 and there will be 10 finalists for each track - 8 selected by Lynch and Genero.tv and 2 based on votes. Lynch will then selecting a winner for each track, with both receiving £2,000 and having their videos serviced to media globally.

After a lot of deliberation the winners and runners up for the Alicia Keys competition for Wait Til You See My Smile have been chosen. Congratulations to.... Scott Orr from NZ! Scott will now receive US$5,000.
It was a very tough choice and there were once again some fantastic entries. Scott's video was chosen based on it's originality in concept and the fantastic overall quality of the video. You can watch the winning video here.
The rest of the finalists were all great as well and each of them were very close to winning in their own right. The runners up, who will each receive a Sony Bloggie HD snap camera, are:
Video 11666 - Matt Callanan (UK) - beautifully shot and a great fit for the song. It was also a finalist based on votes.
Video 11778 - Michal Krumpár and Jakub Jahn (Czech Republic) - Very entertaining. Where did you find all of those amazing performers?
Video 11762 - Federico Anastasi (France) - another really unique video and a great story. Felt like a short film and we loved it.

The finalists for the Band of Skulls comp to make the official video for Fires have now been chosen. Again it was really hard to narrow down all of the entries to just 4 finalists (to go with the 2 finalists that got the most votes). We'd like to give some honorable mentions to a few film makers who were really close to being selected. Sorry you weren't selected but we could only choose 4: Winther12, isabelewen, stupid banana, FRABfilms and gcmp.
A message to all of the other entrants from Band of Skulls:
"Thanks very much to everyone who entered and spent so much time and energy putting their videos together. It was a very interesting experience to see how others interpreted our music and there were some fantastic entries. Thanks again."

OK we've finished the very hard task of choosing the finalists for the Teenage Spaceman video competition. There was such variety in the entries so it was really tough to narrow it down. There were plenty that would have sat very comfortably as finalists and the official video for the song.
The 4 finalists chosen by Booka Shade and Genero.tv are:
Video 10066 - protonsanon (NZ)
Video 10242 - Rivetting (USA)
Video 10754 - DOLCEROCCA (Denmark)
Video 10594 - Matthew Harris (NZ)
The 2 finalists based on votes are:
Video 10130 - jeremyjaoui (France)
Video 10514 - Alex et Ol (Belgium)

Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger have been making music together for almost 25 years culminating in their fourth Booka Shade album More!. Thanks to massive underground hits like 'Mandarine Girl', Booka Shade already have a serious cult following in clubland, but in the last two years their live show has seen them infiltrate festivals, like Coachella and Glastonbury, where most dance acts would fear to tread.
Now you could make the official music video for their next single off More!, Teenage Spaceman. The winner will receive €3,000 and have their video serviced to media globally as the official music video in support of it's single release. Entries close on July 14. Moby has personally chosen the winning video to be used for his new single 'Wait For Me'. The winning video is by Nimrod Shapira from Israel and you can watch it here: http://genero.tv/watch-video/4562. Congratulations to Nimrod for a fantastic entry and he will now receive US$5,000 cash and have his video serviced to media worldwide in support of Wait For Me's single release.
Some feedback from Moby on why he chose this as the winning video: "It was incredibly hard picking a winner in this competition, as there were dozens and dozens of great videos to choose from. I chose this winning video based on it's creativity, production value, concept, and humor. Thanks to everyone who entered, and i'm truly sorry that there couldn't be more than one winner, as they were all really good".

Wow...firstly we were absolutely blown away by the quality and number of entries received for the Moby 'Wait for Me' competition. There are so many amazingly talented people out there and we sincerely thank you all for your efforts and for being part of the Genero.tv community. Hopefully you've enjoyed being part of it and there will be plenty more Genero.tv comps you can get involved in.
For people who had entries that weren't chosen we hope you understand how hard it was to choose 4 videos out of over 400.
The 4 finalists chosen by Moby and Genero.tv are:
Video 1794 - Martin Winther (Denmark)
Video 3874 - Anthony H (United States)
Video 4370 - Petr Tomaides (Czech Rebublic)
Video 8258 - Maik Hempel (Australia)
The 2 finalists based on votes are:
Video 4786 - Sergey and Alexandr (Belarus)
Video 4562 - Nimrod Shapira (Israel)
Unfortunately we had to remove votes from some other videos because of a significant amount of voting activity that couldn't be satisfactorily explained.
Congratulations to all of the finalists! Moby will now choose the winner and the two runners up, which will be announced on Monday April 19th. Good luck!

Before you get started, make sure your video content is suitable. Here are the main reasons for videos not getting approved;
- creatively or conceptually, there is not much of an idea (eg. family/travel/stock footage set to music)
- the overall production or editing quality level is too low
- your video has racist, violent or defamatory content
Creativity is very subjective, for that reason we often can't give specific reasons why your video has been rejected. Remember we're looking for videos that could potentially be used as the official music video for the artists and songs we feature.
Read more FAQ's in our help section.

Please note 3 important requirements when creating a music video for any Genero.tv comp.
Our recommended aspect ratio is 16:9, however you can also use 1.85:1 or 2.39:1. Other aspect ratios like 4:3 are no longer useable in today's media platforms.
Please ensure there are no black bars surrounding your video, our transcoding process will automatically add the appropriate padding at the top and bottom of the video if it is wider than 16:9.
Credits or titles are not permitted on the video you upload. If you have already done so, please upload an updated version without credits or titles. You can use the Description and Other Credits fields to provide any additional info on your video and recognise any additional contributors.
