The Brief – What is Compatibility?

In this project, we want filmmakers to delve into the wonderfully complicated world of human relationships where compatibility and chemistry are on display every day but rarely discussed between partners. Be creative and make engaging and entertaining videos that people want to watch and share!

eHarmony’s Compatibility Matching SystemTM uses dozens of dimensions of compatibility. For this project they’re asking you to create videos based on one of the compatibility traits below:

Character
The collection of features and traits that form the individual nature of someone.
Humour
The degree to which humour is a central part of your personality.
Communication style
Your ability and willingness to verbalise thoughts and feelings.
Curiosity
The desire to learn or know about something or someone.
Romantic passion
The level of importance you place on romance and sharing warmth, affection and a sensual connection with your partner.
Conflict resolution
How well you are able to understand another’s point of view, be respectful of others during conflicts and drop issues once they are resolved.

Your video needs to be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes 30 seconds long and must contain the opening and closing title cards (see Assets details below).

Video submissions must be received before May 29th, at 23:59 GMT.

Assets

Your video must include start and end cards as provided on the Assets tab.

We’ve provided the licensed music eHarmony uses on their TVC creative for you to use in your videos. You can edit it down if the supplied music is too long. And don't feel restricted by the length of the music, your video can be up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

You can also use royalty free or licensed music from other sources if you feel it better fits your video. You must ensure your music has the correct license; see the Assets tab for more details.

Judging and Awards

The winner will receive $10,000, with 1 runner-up receiving $5,000. In addition, another ten runners up will receive $1,000 each.

Videos will be judged by eHarmony, Fuse and Genero based on their creativity, originality and quality.

eHarmony

eHarmony was created to give people a better chance at a successful long term relationship. The service was founded by Dr. Neil Clark Warren, a clinical psychologist and marriage counselor in the US more than three decades ago. Dr. Warren and the founding team at eHarmony found that good chemistry is not enough to make a relationship succeed - more important to long-term happiness is the sharing of key dimensions on compatibility such as core traits, relationships skills, beliefs and values.

If you would like to trial eHarmony as part of your research for this project, please click here to request a 1 month free subscription. Please note, eHarmony is for singles only. If you are happily taken, you can still register for your research - then, after you complete the questionnaire, please contact eHarmony's customer care team to have your account removed.
