The Break have now chosen the winning music video to be used for their new single Winkipop. Congratulations to Michelle Kee from Canada who will now receive US$2,000 and have her video serviced to media in support of Winkipop's release. Watch Michelle's entry here http://genero.tv/watch-video/9058.
Jim Moginie, guitarist from The Break speaks about why they chose Michelle's entry...
"I didn't know what to expect here. Really, I was expecting more outer space surf stuff with a song like Winkipop, and this clip's beginning is almost static, like a Gary Numan robot video. And to be honest I've always seen the song as galloping along triumphantly. But expect the unexpected here. The acrobatics starting a minute into the song are such a surprise with a huge WOW factor. Its out of control. Even the squirrel works. This clip fits the spirit of things brilliantly, such a simple idea, with that joy of suspense and release and finally resolution. And the two jailbirds looking out at the water at the end, at the future, is so right. Freedom from the mechanised, and the dullness of the digital age, where one's and zero's rule. I loved all the clips but this one, for me, fitted the spirit of the music so well. Special commendation for the madness of David Chidlow's cardboard guitars, such a simple idea and so much fun. Finally, hats off to Genero for such a great way to build film making community around the world and to the imagination and shining talent of all the filmmakers involved."
Thanks again for all of you who entered, voted and supported the competition, and also for being part of our worldwide community.
